Phil DuaneGeneral ManagerI started with Snorkel in 1996 as customer support in the parts department, this put me right in the front line of the rental world. I learn to understand the rental equipment world through assisting dealers in parts lookup, parts orders, return parts, and annual buybacks.
In 1998 I was promoted to the Marketing department with snorkel and traveling to dealer locations working with their parts departments. In a time that the consolidation to National Rental Companies was just beginning to emerge I was covering all the United States meeting with all the Snorkel Dealers. Snorkel eventually sold to Omniquip, where I began working a role in marketing parts with Snorkel, Skytrak, Lull, Skat trak. After gaining insight and knowledge I decided to advance my career by taking a position as a Parts Marketing Supervisor with Altec. This position I executed a transition with the support side to a centralized parts distribution center called Plant 51. I was offered a position with JLG as a Central Region Parts Sales Rep in 2001. My territory was of most of the central United States, I was able to go back visiting and assisting equipment companies. Over the next couple of years, I was promoted to Equipment sales within JLG. I achieved a goal of selling equipment in the rental industry as well as assisting in the startup of rental companies, growing existing rental companies, and helping equipment dealers grow their business by diversifying into rental equipment. I spent nearly 18 years at JLG, which provided me with many great opportunities and a vast knowledge and understanding of the industry. |
